About the OS environment (Windows) of personally-owned PCs

In October 2021, Microsoft released “Windows 11”.

Please note that although many students may be considering “purchasing a Windows 11 PC” or “upgrading to Windows 11”, the PC room at the university is planned to continue using “Windows 10”.

The university may not be able to provide support for environments that have not been verified, including Windows 11.

The university recommends that you continue to use Windows 10 for the time being, although it is not mandatory.
If you are using an environment other than the verified environment, please be sure to understand the above points before using the software.

※For the verification status of software used uniquely by each faculty or department, please contact directly to each faculty or department.

※Some students have already upgraded to “Windows 11” and are experiencing difficulties in their classes, self-study, and research activities. (There have been reports of problems with Tex-related software, Visual Studio code, etc.)

※If you have upgraded to “Windows 11”, you can revert to “Windows 10” if it is within 10 days.
